I’m Prathamesh Gharat - Tux to most people. I hold a BFA from the Raheja School of Art, where I also studied photography. While photography trained my eye
and shaped the way I see the world, at heart, I have always been a designer.
I have spent more than 24 years in advertising, creating ideas, shaping visual identities and helping build brands.
My career began at Mudra Communications in 2002, followed by stints at Euro RSCG
and Bates Enterprise.
In January 2008, I joined Lowe Lintas, beginning a journey that lasted nearly two decades. It was at Lintas that I truly grew as an advertising professional.
The organisation shaped the way I think, work and lead-and, in many ways,
it also shaped my life.
Most recently, I served as Executive Director and Head of Art at MullenLowe Lintas India, leading the art function across the Mumbai and Bengaluru offices.
Over the years, I have worked on a wide range of brands, some of which will always remain close to my heart. I shared a journey of almost 16 years with Axis Bank, contributing to
the brand through different stages of its evolution. Mumbai Indians, Hershey’s, Tata Motors- including the launch campaign for the new Tata Safari, Godrej Enterprises Group, Closeup, Clear Shampoo, and Fabindia are among the many other brands
that have played an important part in my career.
Over the years, advertising has shaped me not only as a designer, but also as a thinker, storyteller, collaborator and leader. It has taught me that a powerful idea is never created
in isolation. It comes from understanding people, culture, business and the world
in which a brand lives. It requires curiosity, empathy, strategic thinking and the ability to
bring different disciplines together around one clear purpose.
The process of learning advertising and design is never complete. It is constantly evolving-shaped by new technologies, changing cultures, emerging media and, most importantly,
by people. What worked yesterday may not work tomorrow, but the fundamentals remain
the same: a strong idea, honest insight, thoughtful craft and meaningful communication.
After more than two decades in the industry, I remain a student of the profession.
I am still driven by the same curiosity that brought me to art school-the desire to observe, question, explore, simplify and create work that connects with people
and stands the test of time.
